Required for all classes - sewing machine and basic sewing supplies (scissors, pins, rotary cutter, matt, etc.) A supply list will be available when you sign up for classes. (Discount 10% for all supplies purchased for a class.) The classes below are structured for adults, ages 16 and over. Please let us know if you are interested in youth classes! Note that all classes fees are nonrefundable but are transferable in the event of a cancellation.
Mother’s Day Gift Basket

Sassy Saturday Satchels and Such

Description: Join us the first Saturday of each month as we hone our bag making skills using Sue Kim's book "Bags, the Modern Classics." Each month we will choose a different project from the book. Skills you will learn from this class are using paper patterns, adding pockets, interfacing, magnetic snaps, zippers, darts and pleats, and embellishing with fabric flowers. Each student is required to purchase the book and provide their own sewing machine in good working order. Fabric and basic sewing supplies should be purchased before the first class. A class supply list will be provided each month prior to the class. This class is appropriate for confident beginners who have sewn a project or two as well as expert sewers and anyone in between. Bring your sassy fabrics and sew some fun!

We will be using Eleanor Burns T-Shirt pattern, which is available in the store. Simple Curves Sunshine Quilt

Description: In this class you will be using the Simple Curves ruler. There are simple curve seams, but with a few tricks - these blocks are mostly made up with straight seams. You will need to either purchase a kit, or you can select your own fabric and purchase a pattern and the ruler.

Description: With a little preparation before the class, you will leave with a completed table runner top! This project will "Spice-up" any table. Once you make one, you won't be able to stop! You will learn how-to the unique 10 degree ruler for a fun and easy project. Preparation requires cutting fabric and sewing strips together. Supply list will be given at registration. Table runner measures approximately 25" x 42".

Description: Have you seen all of the fantastic samples in our store made with the 10 Degree Wedge Ruler? This class is a great way to learn how to use these fantastic tools, but with minimal investment. In this class you will learn how to use the Mini 10 Degree Wedge Ruler to make a smaller circle table topper or even a round floor pillow. This is truly a great project to wow sewers and nonsewers alike! It looks way more complicated than it is. This class is appropriate for confident beginners who have sewn a project or two as well as expert sewers and anyone is between. Students must provide their own sewing machine and basic sewing supplies as well as purchase a Mini Wedge 10 Degree ruler and fabrics prior to class.
3-D Mariners Compass

Description: Sew 32 fabric wedges with folded inserts for a three dimensional Mariner's Compass block. NO SET IN POINTS! The wedge and insert tool are included with the pattern. It will make either a 19" circle; or 20" block. You will have a block done by the end of class!

Description: This quilt is made with a pattern from Grizzly Gulch Patterns called One for the Money. This pattern has made flying geese squares remarkably easy. You will learn easy piecing and tips on how to cut length of fabric borders - quick and easy. You will need to either purchase a kit or select your own fabric and purchase a pattern.
Introduction to Machine Quilting

Sewing Level: Intermediate (should have pieced several quilts and be comfortable with your sewing machine)
Description: Okay, so you really can quilt those quilts yourself, no really! This class will offer you an introduction to the world of machine quilting, and take the fear out of finishing your quilts. Topics covered in class include batting selection, basting, thread and needle selection, straight line quilting, using stencils, marking tools, and a brief introduction to free motion quilting. Also covered will be using a walking foot and darning foot, so those will be required tools for the class. This class is appropriate for anyone who is a "piecer" and would like to become a "quilter". Students must purchase "Machine Quilting Made Easy" prior to class and also must bring a sewing machine in good working order along with basic sewing supplies.
Paper Piecing

Weekender Bag

Description: This duffel is a "must have" for any traveler and makes a very classy gift for any occasion. There are 7 pockets in all, including a zippered pocket on the inside. It has padded handles, an optional shoulder strap, and a top zipper. This size or the smaller "Sleepover" size can be made in the same class. Class will be taught by the pattern designer, Laura Witt. She will show you the tips and tricks to create this bag in either of two sizes. Everyone finishes their bag! Requirements for class - all pieces must be cut and fused before class time. Additional instructions will be given at time of registering. Also bring sewing machine and basic sewing supplies.
